Packaged in pink and conceived beyond the gender binary, Boy Smells candles make loving your identity a daily ritual.
In 2016, Boy Smells began as an experiment in candle-making in the Los Angeles kitchen of co-founders and real-life partners Matthew Herman and David Kien. “We wanted to have products that were embracing masculine and feminine simultaneously in a simple and straightforward way that wasn’t overtly targeted to one gender,” the founders say. “It’s a permission to harness your power from wherever you want it.”
Boy Smells Candles use an all-natural, paraffin-free, cruelty-free wax, blend of coconut and beeswax, and cotton, lead-free wick. The candles are hand-poured in a glass vessel and hand-labeled in Los Angeles, California. The candle vessels are meant to be reused or recycled. The first burn of any candle should be long enough for the entire top layer of wax to liquefy. This will ensure an even burn for each light. Refrain from burning candles longer than 3 hours at a time, and never burn a candle when there is less than ¼” of wax at the base.
ALL CANDLES: Coconut and beeswax blend with a braided cotton wick, in a glossy black glass tumbler. Comes in an embossed matte pink carton.
